Title: Add Article VII Section 11 of the Constitution of The American Legion Department of Tennessee

WHEREAS, The National Executive Committee of The American Legion passed Resolution 5, Officer and Chairman Certification of Service on May 9-10, 2018; and
 
WHEREAS, The American Legion, Department of Tennessee is currently amending its Constitution to align with the national organization; and
 
WHEREAS, All officers, elected or appointed in The American Legion, Department of Tennessee shall provide leadership in verifying their membership eligibility; now, therefore, be it
 
RESOLVED, by Post 254, The American Legion, Department of Tennessee, in a regular meeting assembled on September 5, 2019, That Article VII Section 11 of The American Legion, Department of Tennessee Constitution shall be added to read:  "All Department level officers, elected or appointed, shall within 30 days of election or appointment, complete at a minimum, American Legion Education Institute (ALEI) Basic Training. Once completed, a copy of course certification must be forwarded to the Department Adjutant."
 
This is to certify that the above resolution was adopted by Sgt Donnie E. Horton American Legion Post 254 on September 5, 2019.
