RESOLUTION:2020-02
TITLE: Request Squadron Charter Cancellation of Squadron
ORIGIN:  Detachment Commander

WHEREAS, Squadron 16, Murfreesboro has failed to keep a minimum of required membership for the past 12 years; and
 
WHEREAS, The Detachment has repeatedly offered assistance; and
 
WHEREAS, Squadron 16 has not held a meeting in 12 years; and
 
WHEREAS, According to Detachment of Tennessee Constitution Article IX, Section 3. “A Squadron of the Sons of the American Legion, Detachment of Tennessee failing to transmit any membership (zero members) for a period of two consecutive years shall be deemed inactive and shall be removed from the membership report.  If said Squadron remains inactive for a third year (three consecutive years), the Detachment Commander, with a two-thirds majority of the Detachment Executive Committee, and approval of the American Legion, Department of Tennessee Executive Committee, shall revoke the charter of said Squadron; and
 
WHEREAS, Squadron 16 Murfreesboro has failed to transmit any membership for the past 12 years; now, therefore, be it
 
RESOLVED, by the Commander, The Sons of the American Legion, Detachment of Tennessee, on February 08, 2020 recommends that the Charter of Bob Brown, Squadron of Murfreesboro, Tennessee be cancelled; and be it finally
 
RESOLVED, Once the Department Executive accept this resolution, the Charter of Squadron 16 Murfreesboro, Tennessee be recommended to the National Executive Committee for cancellation.
 
 
This is to certify that the above resolution was adopted by the Detachment Executive Committee, Detachment of Tennessee on February 08, 2020.
