TITLE: Request Squadron Charter Cancellation of Squadron
ORIGIN:  Detachment Commander

WHEREAS, Squadron 202 Gatlinburg has failed to keep a minimum of required membership for the past 5 years; and
WHEREAS, The Detachment has repeatedly offered assistance; and
WHEREAS, Squadron 202 has not held a meeting in 5 years; and
WHEREAS, According to Detachment of Tennessee Constitution Article IX, Section 3. “A Squadron of the Sons of the American Legion, Detachment of Tennessee failing to transmit any membership (zero members) for a period of two consecutive years shall be deemed inactive and shall be removed from the membership report.  If said Squadron remains inactive for a third year (three consecutive years), the Detachment Commander, with a two-thirds majority of the Detachment Executive Committee, and approval of the American Legion, Department of Tennessee Executive Committee, shall revoke the charter of said Squadron; and
WHEREAS, Squadron 202 Gatlinburg has failed to transmit any membership for the past 5 years; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Commander, The Sons of the American Legion, Detachment of Tennessee, on February 08, 2020 recommends that the Charter of Gatlinburg, Squadron 202 of Gatlinburg, Tennessee be cancelled; and be it finally
RESOLVED, Once the Department Executive accept this resolution, the Charter of Squadron 202 Gatlinburg, Tennessee be recommended to the National Executive Committee for cancellation.
